POTENTIAL NEW MEMBER BILL OF RIGHTS
  • The right to be treated as an individual.
  • The right to be fully informed about the recruitment process.
  • The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answer from Recruitment Counselors.
  • The right to be treated with respect.
  • The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized.
  • The right to ask how and why and receive straight answers.
  • The right to have and express opinions to Recruitment Counselors.
  • The right to expect confidentiality when sharing information with Recruitment Counselors.
  • The right to make informed choices without undue pressure from others.
  • The right to be fully informed about the binding agreements implicit in the preference card signing.
  • The right to make one’s own choice and decision and accept full responsibility for the results of that decision.
  • The right to have a positive, safe and enriching recruitment and pledging experience.

CONTACT & SILENCE POLICIES PRIOR TO AND DURING RECRUITMENT
  • Contact may occur prior to recruitment, but conversations should be limited to the benefits of participating in recruitment, not specific to any one organization
  • No contact may occur between sorority members and potential new members during Primary Recruitment (ex: letters, emails and social media).
  • Sororities cannot have gatherings that include potential new members (ex: teas, parties, trips).
  • Potential new members cannot stay with sorority members (ex: spending the night at a member’s house).

Cost can be a huge factor in deciding membership. You can find a cost breakdown on our website under "How much does membership cost?"

Letters of recommendation are not required. However, if you have an alumna who wants to write you one, you could submit to each chapter at the following places:
